When Dajemy Dzieciom Siłę Foundation invited me to participate in their 15 Reasons campaign, I immediately knew this was a topic that couldn't be based on aesthetics for aesthetics' sake. It needed to reach something deeper.
Snow White and the Phone Screen
The poster I created is titled "Risky Behavior." It references one of the most recognizable fairy tales – the story of Snow White. A little girl wearing a crown stands in front of her smartphone screen. A dark figure lurks behind the glass, holding out a red apple to her.
The metaphor is simple, but – I hope – painful in its recognition. The internet can be a place where cold, manipulative adults offer children what appear to be gifts. Children often don't know what they're actually receiving.
For centuries, fairy tales have told the truth about the world's dangers – just in a different guise. Here, the guise is contemporary.

15 Reasons Why Campaign
The FDDS is one of the most important organizations in Poland dedicated to protecting children from violence and exploitation. The 15 Reasons Campaign is a project in which 15 creators – illustrators, graphic designers, and artists – created works addressing 15 different threats facing children.
This isn't a campaign that shouts. It speaks through images. And therein lies its power.
